BANGALORE: Exabyte Corporation, a performance and value leader in tape backup systems, announced a deal with Logitec that will allow the Asian computer peripheral manufacturer to offer VXA-2 tape drives to its customers. Logitec, one of Asia’s largest original equipment manufacturers (OEM), has fully certified VXA-2 and has begun selling the product through its extensive sales channels. VXA-2 tape drives are being marketed under the Logitec brand as a backup and archiving solution for Logitec’s popular line of AI servers.

"This OEM agreement with Logitec represents a significant endorsement of VXA technology — particularly in the server market where customers demand maximum performance and capacity at a budget-friendly price," said Jalin Anderson, Managing Director and Vice President of Asia/Pacific Sales at Exabyte.

"Logitec is one of the most prominent computer equipment and peripheral manufacturers in Japan, and their selection of VXA-2 continues to build sales momentum of VXA in the large Asian market."

"VXA-2 is a tape storage solution with excellent quality, reliability and performance at a very competitive price," said Kazutoshi Miyahara, Managing Director at Logitec. "Logitec’s server customers demand storage solutions that offer great value, and VXA-2 has the best price-performance value in the storage market. Many of our customers are looking for alternatives to DDS technology, and Exabyte VXA technology is clearly superior."
