Ex-Wipro CIO Laxman Badiga now Anthelio COO

BANGALORE, INDIA: Former chief information officer of Wipro Technologies, Laxman K. Badiga, has joined Anthelio Healthcare Solutions, a healthcare information technology services and business process solutions provider for hospitals and other healthcare providers, as its chief operating officer.

In his new capacity, Badiga would focus on technology innovation for the healthcare-related clients of Anthelio, said a press release.

“Laxman Badiga's tremendous experience and capabilities in applying global technology initiatives will be a tremendous asset to Anthelio, as we seek to bend the cost curve for hospitals and other healthcare related providers,” said Richard S. Garnick, chairman and CEO of Anthelio.

During his tenure at Wipro, Badiga managed critical operations, including facilities creation and management, supply chain management, procurement, information systems and IT infrastructure, travel and mobility and government relations, added the release.

He has been credited for the significant growth of the organization from a start-up division at its earliest days of formation to a 120,000 people-strong global leader in the IT & business process outsourcing industry with $5 billion.

Badiga also initiated the first successful verticalization of Wipro by launching retail and utilities businesses groups, which today are two of the company's largest verticals.
