eWebUniversity launches operations in India

NEW DELHI: eWebUniversity, a US based e-learning and knowledge management

company, has begun its Indian operations. It has also introduced eWebSmartLink,

an ASP based solution for corporations to increase information flow, in India.

The company is also setting up a global customer support center in Mumbai with

an initial capital investment of Rs 5 crore.

Highlighting the features of eWebSmartLink, Anil Chopra,

President-International Operations, eWebUniversity, said, "eWebSmartLink is

a corporate communication tool that not only slashes operating costs, but makes

the top management more accessible to employees, customers and partners. It

increases information flow between employees and various departments and makes

it possible for the entire organization but also the market by interacting

directly with the sales force and channel partners - through Web

Conferencing."

The company, which has already invested about $1 million in India, is

planning to expand its operations in Asia, Europe and Australia. In India, it

will target the top 500 Indian companies for its product.

Talking about the revenue model, Yogesh Vaidya, Chairman, eWebUniversity,

said that the company has a course authoring group in Mumbai. The price of

course authoring is between Rs 7-15 lakh depending on the extent of

customization. The company is looking at a turnover of $5 million in the current

year. In the first year, it is targeting a customer base of 150 clients.

Presently, it has 22 employees and offices in Delhi and Mumbai. Two new offices

in Pune and Bangalore are in the pipeline.
