eSSecom achieves PCI DSS certification

BANGALORE, INDIA: eSSecom today announced that they have successfully achieved compliance to PCI DSS 1.1 security standard, becoming the first Payment Gateway and EFT Switch Company in India to be certified.


PCI DSS 1.1 is an emerging credit card security standard promoted by major card agencies like VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB. PCI DSS is an extremely important component of Credit Card Security and is therefore a stringent standard and meeting these standards ensures that the Processing Infrastructure is Secure for Customers to transact.  

“It is critical for users of our Payment Gateway Processing Services either over the net or the mobile handset to have the total mental comfort that their transactions are secure. eSSecom’s PCI DSS certification was done by ControlCase ( a Mclean, Virginia, USA based company.

The PCI DSS version 1.1, a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment account data security, was developed by the founding payment brands of the PCI Security Standards Council, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International, to help facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures on a global basis.

The PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures. This comprehensive standard is intended to help organizations proactively protect customer account data.
