Esri brings GIS software suite for small design firms

REDLANDS, USA: Esri, the geographic information system (GIS) software developer has announced a special opportunity for small companies engaged in landscape architecture and urban design to take advantage of a competitively priced software package. Esri has bundled together a creative suite of GIS software specifically for these design companies.

The package levels the competitive playing field by helping small companies to increase design efficiency, reduce change orders, and communicate more effectively with clients and communities. The software package and price was designed to help companies fully integrate GIS into their workflow.

The software includes ArcGIS for Desktop and its extensions ArcGIS 3D Analyst, ArcGIS Network Analyst, and ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, as well as ArcGIS Online and Esri CityEngine.

"Our goal is to get GIS in to design workflows at smaller companies by reducing their cost of entry," says David Wieseler, Esri's director of enterprise licensing. "They are a strategic part of an industry, but often don't have access to the same software as larger firms. This program will provide a way for them to use GIS for a minimum investment."
