MUMBAI:

Epson

has announced the launch of the EPSON Perfection V10 scanner.

Weighing 2.2 kilograms and measuring 41mm in height, the EPSON Perfection V10 is
a matrix CCD scanner. Sporting a silver casing, the scanner features optical

resolution of 3200dpi and 48-bit colour depth.

Documents, photographs and 3D objects can be scanned and reproduced with clarity
and realism, Epson said in a statement.

The Epson Easy Photo Fix allows home users to preserve all important documents
and photos in a hassle-free manner. Using the latest Colour Restoration

technology, faded photographs can be seamlessly restored at the click of a

mouse.

Also incorporated in the software is
Epson's

new backlight correction function. This smart new addition analyses the image

histogram to identify any backlight conditions in the photograph and corrects

the brightness, sharpness, colour saturation and colour balance of the image.

The Digital Dust Correction feature that automatically detects and removes dust
specks from scanned photographs, has also been improved. Other options include

Grain Reduction and De-screening.

The EPSON Perfection V10 also boasts an energy-saving mode, which is
self-activated after 15 minutes of inactivity. The scanner can be reactivated by

tapping on any one of the four direct access buttons or by launching the Epson

Scan software.

It also features a new hinge design, which allows the scanner's lid to be opened
up to 180 degrees. This permits easy scanning of even the bulkiest books and

encyclopaedias.

Priced with an M.R.P of Rs. 6,750, the EPSON Perfection V10 scanner will be
available from today.
