Follow UsMUMBAI, INDIA: The fourth CIOL-Dataquest Enterprise Connect Awards will be announced at the J W Marriott Hotel here this evening.
An expert committee chaired by former Karnataka IT Secretary and CEO of Brickwork India, Vivek Kulkarni, selected the 11 winners among seven categories at its sitting held in Bangalore on August 4. More than 100 companies competed for the awards this year.
The Enterprise Connect Awards has a broad turnover classification such as less than Rs 1000 crore and more than Rs 1000 crore.
Each of these categories will have three awards, which will be named as Champion CIO, Gold CIO & Silver CIO. Apart from this, another set of individual awards is given under the categories: Pioneer, Innovator, Advocate, Extended Manager and Process
Rahul De, HP chair professor of IIM-Bangalore, Probir Mitra, Senior General Manager (IT) of Tata Motors, Alok Shende, vice-president of Frost & Sullivan, Subhash Patil, System Manager of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation, Shyam Malhotra, director and editor-in-chief of Cybermedia India Ltd and Prasanto K. Roy, president of Business Magazines Group at Cybermedia, were the other jury members.
Cybermedia India Online’s (CIOL) Enterprise Connect has been a program that has assisted CIOs from large enterprises with information with regards to implementation of various technologies in their respective organizations.
CIOL instituted the Enterprise Connect Awards in association Dataquest in 2004 to recognize the pioneering works done by CIOs in large and medium enterprises.
The Enterprise Connect Awards is built around a framework that recognizes a CIO's leadership qualities, business-technology understanding, people orientation and performance through pioneering and innovating efforts.
It recognizes and rewards the excellence of CIOs in enabling their organisations become more efficient and competitive, and has become the standard and a synonym for excellence and merit among Indian CIOs.
In the last three years, a total of 400 large enterprises have participated in the CIOL-Dataquest Enterprise Connect Awards and sent in their nominations.
Some of the winners in the previous editions include Tata Motors Limited, Reliance Industries, CESC Limited, ICICI Bank Limited, North Delhi Power Limited, Reliance Infocomm Limited, Bharti Tele Ventures Ltd, TVS Motor Company, State Bank of India, Gati Limited, Fortis Healthcare among others.
