BANGALORE: Enterasys Networks, a Cabletron Systems company, has said that it has
set up the backbone network for Satyam Infoway’s data center located in Mumbai.
Based on leading networking products like SmartSwitch routers, Matrix E7 and
Spectrum, the network caters to mission critical needs like faster data delivery
with high redundancy. This is India’s largest Web hosting center, which offers
services like co-location of servers with dedicated Internet bandwidth,
co-hosting, backend database systems and Web server platforms. Enterasys has
bagged this project against stiff competition from Extreme Networks and Alteon.

"Satyam Infoway is the leader in the Internet and e-commerce segment. As
part of our integrated, end to end service offerings, we would like to be the
leader in content hosting," said Satyam Infoway vice president-content
hosting services, Avinash J. "We need partners who understand our mission
critical needs and match our requirements in terms of scope, reliability and
scale of operations. We found that Enterasys offered us the option of bandwidth
flexibility supported by its state-of-the-art technology and products. This is
why we entrusted them with the network for the data center," he added.
