BANGALORE: Enterasys Networks Inc. has launched its new security router 1850 (XSR-1850), which is a fully-featured security router designed for enterprise branch offices. Enterasys Security Routers provide secure, high-availability remote office networking by combining a full suite of IP router features, a broad range of WAN interfaces and enterprise-class Virtual Private Networking (VPN).

"Enterprise remote offices are increasingly vulnerable to internal and external security threats. Leading edge organizations need ways to better secure their intellectual property, especially at these remote locations. With the Enterasys Security Router 1850, we continue to deliver a high-performance solution with many options for future security features and applications" said Enterasys Networks, Executive Vice President of Product Management, Gil Arbel.

Enterasys Security Routers are a robust alternative to Cisco 1700 and 2600 series routers. Comprehensive IP routing and security functions, including VPN acceleration and unmatched price-performance, deliver superior value.

The company also announced Virtual Private Network (VPN) firmware for the Enterasys Security Router 1800 series. Available immediately, the standards based VPN feature set is built to meet demanding enterprise requirements for site-to-site, extranet, or remote access connectivity. Leveraging the VPN accelerator built into every device, Enterasys Security Routers deliver good performance and maximize secure connectivity between remote sites and teleworkers. Existing Enterasys Security Router customers can add VPN locally or remotely through a firmware upgrade.
