BANGALORE: Enterasys Networks, a Cabletron Systems company, has announced the
expansion of its Matrix series of switches by launching the new Matrix E5.
Matrix E5 provides a full set of data switching features, which can ensure
faster and efficient delivery of data within a network.

According to the company, this product is offered at the lowest price points
in the industry to cost-effectively meet the requirements of the enterprise
segment. Matrix E 5 has three versions with prices ranging between $3000 and
$6000.

The Matrix E5 offers a broad range of uplink options for technology
migration, including Gigabit Ethernet and wide area network (WAN) capabilities.
In addition, full routing functionality can be added to the E5 using Enterasys’
advanced router module (ARM).

"Switches are the future of the networking industry and Enterasys has a
leadership in providing switching solutions to the networking market in India.
Our objective is to constantly innovate such technologies, and help our
customers build a strong IT infrastructure backbone that will function
efficiently", said Enterasys country manager — India & SAARC Uday
Birje.

The E5 complements Enterasys’ Matrix E7 series of full-function enterprise
switches, which were announced in April 2000.
