Enterasys announces convergence strategy

BANGALORE: Enterasys Networks, a Cabletron company, has announced that it

will provide converged networks to the Indian enterprise and service provider

markets. The convergence strategy aims at providing integrated voice and data

solutions for Indian customers, who aspire for a simplified, converged network.

Enterasys Network’s convergence solution aims at providing converged products

and solutions to the customers without replacing the existing datacom

infrastructure.

As a first initiative towards convergence, Enterasys has launched Power Suite

1.0, which offers a solution for IP telephony and the convergence of voice,

video and data networks to meet the evolving communication needs of corporate

networks and e-businesses.

With Power Suite, Enterasys combines network switches, routers and

applications to create a fully integrated, standards-based convergence solution

for the enterprise market. Applications like click-to-talk, unified messaging,

IP phones and intelligent call centers which are included as part of the Power

Suite portfolio, will bring online consumers and businesses closer by enhancing

customer service and increasing e-business efficiency.
