WALNUT CREEK, USA: WildPackets, Inc., a provider of network and application performance analysis solutions, announced the appointment of IT security veteran Enrique Salem to its board of directors. Salem has joined the WildPackets board after a long and successful career serving in leadership positions at high-technology security firms.

Most recently, Salem was president, CEO and director of Symantec from 2009 to 2012. Prior, he served as president and CEO of Brightmail from 2002 to 2004, before its acquisition by Symantec in 2004. Salem currently serves on President Obama's Management Advisory Board, offering advice from his private-sector experience to improve federal government management and operations.

Timothy McCreery, president and CEO of WildPackets said: "We welcome Enrique's strong security background at a time when businesses are using network forensics to solve security problems created by the spread of personally owned mobile devices being used in business and educational institutions. With his valuable insight and counsel, WildPackets will be able to help more enterprises deal with performance and security challenges on wireless and high speed networks."
