End-to-end search technology from MS

BANGALORE: Microsoft Corp is working on a technology that will provide better search functions, enable easy email and PC search, as well as make database search more efficient. Said an online report.

According to the report Yusuf Mehdi, head of Microsoft's MSN division said that the technology is very consumer oriented, will enable search across various data types, and will be far better than search facility that comes with its Windows operating system.

Microsoft plans to release this search within next 12months, much before the launch of next version of Windows.

Analysts feel that this is a step MS has taken in action to the growing popularity of search engines like Google, which may soon extend to the desktop search, also.

MS has spend heavily in building its own search technology after relying on third party technology for years.
