This is the second EmTech conference being held outside the MIT campus, the first one was held in New Delhi in March 2009.

In his opening remark, Narayanan Suresh, Group Editor, Technology review, said Bangalore is closer to the city of Boston in many aspects of technology and that is a good reason for us to bring EmTech to this IT hub. We will be showcasing many high-end technologies in the country in coming years as we have been doing in the past. In the next two days you will see some of the innovation that would be making its mark in the coming years.

Pradeep Gupta, Chairman of Cyber Media gave an overview of EmTech and Technology Review. “Increasingly people are looking at how they can come up with innovations. What they need is new ideas, which they can get out of the events like this. We have been a partner in initiating and promoting innovations in the country for years. And we continue to do that.”

Jason Pontin, Editor in Chief, Technology Review, said, “Out of the 2 million readers of Technology Review, 1.4 million are outside the US. Just yesterday, I visited Tejas Networks, Tejas did something nobody thought about. This one example shows how innovations have started taking wings in countries outside the US.”
