NEW DELHI, INDIA: IBM on Monday announced that EmployWise, an HR Software-as-a-Service provider, will deliver its services on a cloud computing infrastructure using the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering.

This agreement will help EmployWise have better focus on continued innovation and rapid on-demand expansion, while IBM manages the back-end operations like installing, upgrading and maintaining the company’s valuable high-end infrastructure, said a press release.

The IBM SmartCloud Enterprise provides rapid access to a multi-tenant shared cloud computing infrastructure that can be scaled to the needs of an enterprise and is priced on actual usage. The IBM offering also offers a ready to use software catalogue with various licensing options.

This enables EmployWise to grow their business without having to worry about the associated increase in IT infrastructure costs and the inherent challenges associated with managing the IT infrastructure.

“This move not only significantly raises the scalability of EmployWise but also gives our customers a higher level of reliability and the comfort of knowing their data is secure in an IBM facility,” said Sumeet Kapur, the founder and CEO of EmployWise.

Kapoor further said that on the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise, computing infrastructure is provisioned in a matter of minutes as compared to weeks or months on a traditional infrastructure setup. “This has not only helped us deploy new features faster but also scale up the infrastructure rapidly as required — enabling faster time to market.”

The IBM SmartCloud Enterprise offering is delivered from IBM-owned and managed Points of Delivery (POD's), giving EmployWise an assurance that their SaaS solution and critical data of their customers is secured by the best available technology in the industry.

The IBM SmartCloud Enterprise is based on a pay-as-you-go model and is deployed based on business need thereby reducing the operating expenditure - a cost control capability that cannot be leveraged in a traditional infrastructure setup when there is surplus capacity that is a cost overhead.
