Whatever be your answer, a recent study conducted by British researchers have pointed out that office workers actually waste an hour a day sending and receiving emails.

The survey was conducted among 4,000 people from 150 business houses in UK.

According to Expert Messaging, the communications consultants which commissioned the study, workers had not been given appropriate training for proper use of emails and this result in their inefficient use of email.

The study said that most employees do not filter or organize their emails correctly and often many of the emails sent do not help people do their jobs.

"As a communications tool that we have all grown up with, but seldom if ever given any formal training on or provided any corporate guidelines for, it's no wonder that email is a significant sources of stress, miscommunication and inefficiency for companies and individuals," The Daily Telegraph reported quoting a spokesman of Expert Messaging.

The findings would be released on Wednesday.
