EMC country manager (India), T Srinivasan, described this initiative as a key

part of the firm’s overall business strategy to broaden its reach, penetrate

new markets and gain market share in the region. EMC has appointed almost 50 new

partners throughout Asia-Pacific and is searching for partners to complement its

existing sales force.

This apart, India is a completely channel driven market and all business is

routed through partners. "EMC recognize the need for a partner who will be

able to create and service the Indian storage market and hence we chose Tech

Pacific as our partner," Srinivasan.

In addition, Tech Pacific has recently formed its new "value

division". The value division of Tech Pacific is focused upon building

Enterprise IT Solutions through a selected set of committed channel partners.

EMC's leading-edge storage solutions will provide tremendous opportunity to

these partners to be able to add genuine value to satisfy end customer storage

needs and create profitable and differentiating business propositions for

themselves," said Tech Pacific India managing director Shailender Gupta.

EMC's channel partners are instrumental to the company's success in the small

and medium sized enterprise market, which constitute a sizeable portion of the

Indian marketplace. Under the new initiative, partners will have access to a

full range of EMC sales, service engineering and marketing resources.

EMC is investing heavily in providing training to its partners in India,

which are designed to ensure that they receive full access to the world-class

training programs for information storage operators, builders, architects and

instructors.
