EMC signs MoU with RGPV

NEW DELHI , INDIA: EMC announced signing of a memorandum of undersatnding (MoU) with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), India’s fifth largest university with over 200 engineering colleges.

As a part of this MoU, EMC will provide RGPV with information and knowledge in the field of information storage and management, cloud infrastructure services, back-up recovery systems and architecture and data science and big data analytics.

Rajesh Janey, president, EMC India & SAARC, said “EMC's academic alliances are cultivating talent globally and we are facilitating collaboration with the best universities and education institutions in the world. In India, this programme has been an astounding accomplishment for EMC with 65,000 trained professionals so far. We are proud to be associated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya and look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership which will address the skill gap in Indian technology talent pool”

As part of the collaboration, EMC is committed to organize training for the faculty of degree institutes under the domain of the university, help develop learning material for the courses and guide RGPV in identifying potential placement opportunities to the students who successfully complete the courses.

The MoU is a part of the EMC Academic Alliance (EAA) program.

“We estimate that the growing adoption of cloud computing will generate 1,00,000 jobs by 2015 and we are confident that these courses can address the need of filling the skill gap in the industry”, he added. “The MoU is part of our endeavor to educate our student on the latest technologies. We are excited to partner with a global technology leader like EMC. The partnership will enable our students to learn latest technologies such as cloud computing which is transforming the IT industry as a whole,” says Piyush Trivedi, vice chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya.
