EMC India COE wins ‘Great Place To Innovate’ award

NEW DELHI, INDIA: The EMC India Center of Excellence (CoE) has received top honours second time in a row for ‘Great Place to Innovate' and ‘Best Technical Role Model' award categories at the recently held Zinnov Confluence 2013 in Bangalore.

It was also awarded for its ‘Best in Class Ability to Create Next Generation Leaders'.

The Zinnov Confluence 2013 is an annual globalization conference by Zinnov, a leading Globalization and Market Expansion Advisory firm. As part of the conference - themed this year on "Unlocking India's Innovation Potential" - Zinnov recognized companies and individuals for excellence in 7 different categories. In its fourth year running, the winners of the Zinnov Awards were identified from a record 200+ nominations from over 50 MNC Technology firms in India.

Award highlights:

Great Place to Innovate (Company Award) - EMC India CoE was bestowed with this award second time in a row for its continued focus on innovation and the concerted efforts made across four key enablement areas; culture, conditions, process and metrics. The India center was assessed on the approach it has taken to foster innovation both internally and externally. Engaging employees across levels, establishing accountability within teams, innovating through university collaboration, cross BU collaboration and innovating for local market needs were some of its focus areas to enhance EMC's portfolio through innovation and establish the India center as a center for innovation within and outside EMC.

Best in Class Ability to Create Next Generation Leaders (Company Award) - This category of award is companywide and recognizes MNC centers that have created a sustainable leadership engine. EMC India CoE's mechanism to create and feed leadership roles (both local and global) in a sustainable manner through programs to identify, train and groom talent was assessed. EMC India CoE's focus on acquiring the best talent and nurturing it at various levels through specifically designed programs specifically for the India center in addition to the global Learning & Developments programs to nurture the skills across both technical and managerial career paths alleviated its position among peers.

Technical Role Model - Senior Level (Individual Contribution Category) - Sairam Veeraswamy, Distinguished Engineer, EMC Corp., received this award for being an exemplary technology stalwart who has served by example in the areas of technical excellence, contribution to technical boards, recognition received, impact created and people mentored within the organization and beyond to emulate them and follow a technical career path. This is second time in a row a senior level engineer at EMC India CoE has received this award.
