Elitecore ties-up with Aksh to roll out IPTV

AHMADABAD, INDIA: Elitecore Technologies, a provider of OSS/BSS platform to telecom operators and entertainment media, won a contract from Aksh Optifibre Ltd, a franchisee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), to provide internet protocol television (IPTV) services to BSNL subscribers in 20 cities.

Aksh, also a franchisee of MTNL, was the first to launch IPTV in India and currently had about 20,000 subscribers pan India. Aksh had been offering IPTV service, iControl, in Delhi using Elitecore’s Crestel OSS BSS platform for its billing and back office management. 

Kailash Chaudhri, director, Aksh Optifibre Ltd., said: "We have chosen them for the second time because of Elitecore’s continued support and thorough understanding of our business requirements.”

Elitecore Technologies had deployed Crestel Convergent Billing system that could handle next generation content services like IPTV and other future upcoming services for Aksh Optifibre Limited. Elitecore Crestel had also provided Aksh Optifibre with extended functionality for real time rating and usage based charging for on demand services – VOD, Time Shift TV, On-Demand Advertisement, Replay Live TV Channels etc.

Crestel's content management and flexible partner management empowered Aksh in developing and maintaining relations with number of content providers and channel partners. The business critical reports tool empowers Aksh with the right information that would help identify new revenue streams. 

Crestel's platform and automated operations could scale simply and efficiently to large numbers of network interfaces that will help Aksh Optifibre reduce operational costs to a great extent.
