eGain to triple team in India

BANGALORE: eGain Communications Pvt Ltd., a wholly owned Indian subsidiary of California based eGain Communications Corp., is planning to triple its workforce in India from 150 to 450 in the next 24 to 36 months.



It is also planning to open its second center in India outside Pune - which incidentally, is also the company's Asia Pacific head quarters. Some of the preferred cities are Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Noida, according to the company's COO for APAC and India, Vivek Rastogi.



eGain is engaged in providing solutions for customer services and contact center through software products and services. The company had clocked revenues of $22 million for fiscal 2004. "We are looking at a revenue of $4 million from the APAC region in the next 24 months. It is less than million dollars now," added Rastogi.



An investment of $10 million is proposed for the second phase of growth for the company. The additions of employees are targeted at professional services division of the company. The Indian operations handle the engineering operations and support for technical, administration, sales and marketing, human resources, finance among other functions of the company's global operations.



Some of the system integration partners of the company are Wipro Technologies, Datacraft and Network Solutions.
