Efficient testing of .NET applications

The .NET software infrastructure brings both benefits and challenges to the application test and QA engineers. The added richness of the environment brings trade-offs when it comes to testing the applications. For example, .NET applications are highly distributed; which makes finding the source of a problem time-consuming and problematic.

.NET applications often make use of Web Services, which have higher levels of dependency between applications representing additional testing problems. And testing teams need additional application configuration knowledge to properly test Web service applications.
