NEW DELHI: Lotus Development Corporation, India Branch Office (Lotus), has

signed an agreement with Edutech Informatics India Pvt Ltd (Informatics)

appointing Informatics as its National Training Partner for India.

The partnership entitles Informatics to extend 'Lotus Authorized Training
Partner (LATP)' status to its entire network of 94 IT training centers. With

this alliance, Informatics will also be a significant corporate fulfillment

partner for Lotus' training needs. Enterprises using Lotus products will have

access to Informatics training, thus having a choice of larger number of Lotus

training sites in the country.

As National Training Partner, Informatics can appoint LATPs within India to run
the Lotus Authorized Courses, which include the R4.x and R5 courses of Lotus. A

Lotus certified course costs between Rs 5,950 and Rs 29,950 depending on the

content of the course. Lotus training courses are already available in 30

existing Lotus Authorized Education Centers in cities such as Delhi, Mumbai,

Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Coimbatore. With the signing of this

agreement with Informatics, the courses will be available at 25 Informatics

centers with immediate effect. By September 2000, over 100 Informatics computer

institutes will offer the Lotus certified courses. This should see a surge in

the number of Certified Lotus Professionals in the country. Currently India has

about 21,000 Certified Lotus Professionals.
