Edgecore Networks solution for hospitality sector

IRVINE, CALIF.: Edgecore, a global manufacturer of application-driven performance networking solutions for SMB and enterprise LAN networks, recently announced a partnership with e-Communications & Networking to deliver Edgecore's VDSL2 technology to the hospitality industry.

The Edgecore solution includes the TigerAccess Extended Ethernet Switch (SMC7824M/VSW), TigerAccess Extended Ethernet CPE (SMC7801A/VCP) and soon to be released TigerAccess Extended Ethernet Wireless CPE module.  The wireless module is designed to drastically decrease implementation and service costs while creating an integrated network infrastructure to decreasing hardware expenditures, said a press release.

Keith Alexis, general manager at Edgecore Networks said, “Our VDSL2 solution enables hotel operators to expand in-room services such as IPTV, VoIP and high-speed Internet access, enabling them to meet the demands of their guests utilizing the existing telephone wiring infrastructure.”

He further said that their solution includes an auto function that puts the unit into a sleep mode to save operators a considerable amount on energy costs.  By enabling operators to provide advanced in-room services while saving them on infrastructure and energy costs, we're providing a win-win solution for the hospitality industry.
