For the past decade, UI has been leading the way in integrating the technologies, business processes and personnel necessary to further enable an already advanced portfolio of smart grid capabilities, a press note says. Adding the Ecologic MDMS to this sophisticated operational environment will enhance UI’s ability to meet the ever changing expectations of customers, regulatory bodies and market expectations. The Ecologic MDMS will provide UI a new dimension in the delivery to customers with the near-real-time information necessary to make more informed choices about their own usage patterns, conservation, time-of-day rates and retail supplier, it says.

“We recognize that UI’s selection of the Ecologic MDMS is more than a statement about our product; it is a statement about our team,” said Kristine Beck, co-founder and chief operations officer of Ecologic Analytics. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to collaborate with UI to leverage our combined experience and skills in achieving the goals of this industry leading Smart System initiative.”

The Ecologic MDMS will validate, estimate and edit meter data for the New Haven-based utility serving more than 324,000 customers in the Greater New Haven and Bridgeport areas.

In recent weeks, Ecologic Analytics has announced installations at two Texas utilities, Oncor and Austin Energy. And with UI it tots up more than 16-million endpoints under contract.

The United Illuminating Company (UI) is a New Haven-based regional distribution utility established in 1899. UI is engaged in the purchase, transmission, distribution and sale of electricity and related services to more than 324,000 residential, commercial and industrial consumers in the Greater New Haven and Bridgeport areas.
