BANGALORE: e4e Inc is in the process of integrating its portfolio companies into a single merged entity. “We are making the transition from being a holding firm to a full-fledged company,” said Dr Sridhar Mitta, MD and CTO of e4e. He hopes to complete the integration in three months' time.
The e4e group (short for entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs) started in 2003 and has four portfolio companies including Vinciti Networks, iCelerate, Aztec Software and iSeva. Dr Mitta said that these companies would soon function as e4e's business units and their names would be transferred to the company's service brands.
“We want to reconfigure our offerings into verticals and horizontal services, with the vertical units consisting of technology services, financial services and health services,” he said. The horizontal offerings would include infrastructure and application maintenance.
He said that e4e is now in the process of combining delivery operations of three companies. Explaining the rationale behind the move, Dr Mitta said, “ When we started, we did not know how the companies would fare in the prevailing market situation. Now after four years, we feel that this is the best way to get and retain customers.”
However, the integration would not rule out opportunities for mergers and acquisitions, Dr Mitta said. He added that the e4e would continue to look for companies that work in areas that would complement e4e's current activities.
