The e-commerce players were charged of anti-competitive practices late last year

BANGALORE, INDIA: The major E-tailers Flipkart,Myntra, Snapdeal, Jabong, Amazon, has been given a clean chit by Competition Commission of India. The e-commerce players were charged of anti-competitive practices, deep discounting.

The CCI in its report stated that it did not find any prima facie evidence of violations by the e-commerce companies. The report added the exclusive deals which e-commerce players have with sellers will not be a barrier for the competitors.

The commission said, “Every product cannot be taken as a relevant market in itself. Irrespective of whether we consider the e-portal market as a separate relevant product market or as a sub-segment of the market for distribution, none of the opposite parties seems to be individually dominant. There are several players in the online retail market which have been arrayed as opposite parties in present case, offering similar facilities to their customers.”

The decision was given a positive response by the e-commerce players and boosted their growth opportunity.
