DVS unveils LS Retail suite for Indian segment

Being one of the major growth areas, the retail industry is encouraging companies to come up with integrated software solutions for the industry.

Dynamic Vertical Solutions (DVS), a provider in end-to-end integrated and adaptable business management applications for industry across verticals, has launched the LS Retail site of solutions for the Indian market. It is a product of Landsteinar Strengur, a developer of retail and hospitality solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics for the international market. DVS is the exclusive distributor partner of the product.

The company is planning to rope in 1000 retail outlets across the country for offering this solution. Rakhee Nagpal, managing director, DVS, in an interview with Bhaskar Hazarika from CyberMedia News shared the company's target to capture the hospitality segment by adding four channel partners to focus on the smaller cities across the country.

The software LS Retail is built on the Microsoft Dynamics platform, offering end-to-end solution from POS to back office and head office on the same application, allowing seamless integration of all functional areas. It is easy to use feature in each of retail management, financials, sales, purchase, inventory, human resource, payroll, CRM, productions with the flexibility of picking and choosing the set of functionalities that is required.

LS Retail also helps in integrating data and information from across all divisions of an organisation and helps on to analyse the direct trends and helps to make more profitable and timely decisions.

Which are the areas in the retail segment you will be targeting your product? How do you see the India's retail market?

We are targeting both the retail and the hospitality market for our product. In the retail segment, we are targeting the food and groceries, Jewellery and fashion.

India has a huge retail market, but is at a nascent stage. India is a hub of shopping malls, dozens of retail chains are available here. The retail industry is one of the most dynamic and high growth sectors in the country today. According to available data there are around 12 million retail stores across the country, of which two million is only organised. So we are ballistic about the growth in India and the figures of the retail market provides the scope for growth. The annual retail sales are estimated at $ 394 billion.

What is your go to market strategy? What are your plans to reach the smaller cities apart from the metros?



Our strategy is 100 per cent channel partner business. We follow the channel based business module. Currently, we have 10 partners across the country focusing on the retail market. These partners have their presence in the two and three tier cities, which will help us to tap the regional retail market.

The LS Retail solution, which you have launched, would it be able to meet the requirements of the Indian retail market? How would you differentiate your product from your competitors?



We are here to plug in the proven international processes in the retail market. We will localize the product to meet the unique requirements of the Indian market. LS Retail is customised and competitive software that will enable corporates to be more innovative, productive and collaborative along with providing them the edge to seize market opportunities quicker at lesser cost.

Built on Microsoft dynamic platform, the software ensures reliability and insurance against future technology obsolescence. This is the first integrated solution in the market designed to suite the retail market needs. The scalability of the solution is unique and its user friendly due to the solution based on Microsoft Technology.

What are your targets for this financial year?



We have launched our operations in India two months ago. We are planning to rope in 1000 retail stores within this financial year. We have recently signed an agreement with 100 retail shops for offering our solution. The food and groceries, jewellery, fashion and hospitality contributes 88 per cent in the retail market, so we are optimistic to achieve our target.

Are you looking at expanding your partner base?



In the hospitality sector we are planning to increase the partner base within a short time. Currently it is under process as we are in talks with Microsoft Dynamic partners. We have identified four partners to focus on the hospitality sector, which includes hotel and fine dining.
