DUBAI, UAE: Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s premier integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, will showcase its rapid success during GITEX Technology Week 2008, the largest and most popular technology retail event in the Middle East.

The mega-event that will be held from 19–23 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre will also see the recently established DSO-based University; Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai (RIT Dubai) sharing details on its educational programs at DSOA’s Stand in Zabeel Hall, ZC10.

Mrs. Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, Deputy CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), said: “DSOA has achieved significant milestones as the region’s Integrated Technology Park for high tech companies. These achievements have propelled DSOA to a highly visible position in the international arena”.

“As one of the top technology events in the world, GITEX Technology Week 2008 acts as the perfect platform to spotlight our rapid success. It is also a key industry venue for strengthening our presence and building new relationships with international investors and major technology leaders” she added.

Located within the DSO premises, RIT Dubai campus has already started offering six Master’s programs and three advanced graduate certificates to students since this autumn. The institution is also catering to full-time employees looking to enhance their knowledge of the industry.

At the DSOA stand, RIT Dubai officials will provide information about the course offerings and guide industry executives to select appropriate study programmes for furthering their careers.”

Dubai Silicon Oasis is a wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai and operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductor, microelectronic and other high technology-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D facilities in the Middle East and Africa region.
