DSQ chief Dalmia held in stock scam case

NEW DELHI: The CBI today produced Dinesh Dalmia, former head of DSQ Software LTD and DSQ Biotech, in a Delhi court in connection with the 2001 stock scam case.

Link Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjiv Jain granted the CBI permission to transfer Dalmia to Chennai to be produced before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore.

CBI's Bank Fraud and Securities Cell arrested Dalmia, against whom a Red Corner Notice was issued by the Interpol, from a South Delhi location on Saturday night.

He fled the country in December 2003 after his company's Rs 595 crore preferential allotment during the 2000-01 bull run in the stock markets turned out to be a fraud.

The Chennai regional passport officer had revoked his passport last year on CBI's request after the he was traced in the US.
