LONDON, UK: dSPACE, based in Paderborn, Germany, and Vector Informatik, with headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, have announced that they have optimised the interoperability of their AUTOSAR tools – the TargetLink (of dSPACE) and the DaVinci Developer (of Vector Informatik) – in order to offer developers of engine control unit (ECU) software with a seamless interaction between the tools.

According to a joint statement from dSPACE and Vector Informatik, while the TargetLink is a production code generator, the DaVinci Developer is an AUTOSAR design tool.

TargetLink and DaVinci Developer interact by exchanging AUTOSAR XML files in accordance with AUTOSAR methods, the statement explained. This procedure is used for the initial design as well as for subsequent development iterations – by employing either a top-down approach or a bottom-up approach.

Developers use the DaVinci Developer, of Vector Informatik, to design the AUTOSAR architecture of an ECU.

Advertisment

According to dSPACE, its TargetLink is being used to “breathe life” into the application components of the software architecture produced with DaVinci Developers.

The components, says dSPACE, are modeled in Simulink/TargetLink and then immediately turned into AUTOSAR-compliant production code by TargetLink. The production code is, finally, integrated into an ECU on the basis of the MICROSAR RTE (runtime environment) by using the AUTOSAR Basic Software of Vector Informatik.
