DSOA targets tech giants at Cebit 2009

DUBAI, UAE: The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) has announced its participation in CeBIT 2009, the world's largest and most renowned trade fair for IT and telecommunications, which will be taking place at Hanover, Germany March 3-8, 2009.

CeBIT 2009 brings together an elite audience of exhibitors and high-tech professionals as well as more than 500,000 visitors from over 80 countries, where the event attracted last year over 5,800 exhibitors from around the world who left Hannover and CeBIT fair with bulging order books.

During the event, Dubai Silicon Oasis Seniors will be utilizing their pavilion to showcase DSO’s solid value proposition to global technology industries, and communicating the growing opportunities in this region that is eager for more technology innovations.

CeBIT’s credentials as the world’s largest technology platform that attracts specialist players, such as Applied Materials, Intel, Infineon Technologies, national associations and bodies in the semiconductor industry, with many of them make the choice of launching their leading edge products at the exhibition. VIPs from research and industry as well as government figures used CeBIT 2008 to debate and promote issues of core importance to the information society.

A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronics-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D divisions in Dubai. To date, DSO has successfully registered a 62 percent annual growth in the number of companies operating from within its premises if compared to 2007.
