DRDO Recruitment: Vacancies for 16 Apprentice posts with stipend Rs 8000-9000; Late date to apply 20 October

The Defence Scientific Information & Documentation Centre (DESIDOC) is a branch under the DRDO, Ministry of Defence. It is recruiting interns/apprentices for one-year training for the financial year 2020-21. The DRDO Recruitment is for following subject disciplines:

1. Library and Information Science (9)

2. Computer Science (6)

3. Photography (1)

DRDO Recruitment for Apprentices/Interns Process

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates have to send scanned copies of their applications. With it, they will have to send documents/certificates in PDF Format through e-mail only. The last date to apply for the post is 15 days from the date of the advertisement - October 5. Thus, the last date to apply is 20th October.

DRDO will not interview due to ongoing pandemic. The Board will go through the applications, and shortlist the candidates (as per the vacancies indicated above) as per selection criteria. Candidates will be selected strictly on the merit basis (percentage/marks of essential qualification). Only Selected candidates will be informed through an offer letter.

Further, candidates must enrol themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal before applying for apprenticeship training. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any institute/organisation are not eligible and only those who have passed out in 2018 or later can only apply.

Eligibility criteria

• Library and Information Science: Diploma in Library Science (Two Years) from recognized University/ Institute.

• Computer Science: Degree in Computer Science (B.E./B. Tech only) from recognized University/ Institute.

• Photography: Diploma in Photography from a recognized institute.

Stipend

The stipend for library and information discipline is Rs 8000 or Rs 9000 per month; computer science is Rs 9000 per month and photography is Rs 8000 per month.
