Dr Kalam unveils e-paper on Children’s Day

KARIMNAGAR: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former president of India, launched the first issue of an e-paper ‘billion beats’ during the Children’s Day function.

“The paper will celebrate the success of the people wherever they are. It may be from an agricultural village, or fishing village, it may be from a dairy village, it may be from the industrial or service sector,” said Dr Kalam.

“I am confident that ‘billion beats’ would create knowledge connectivity among the people,” he added.

Dr Kalam has handpicked a group of journalists, scientists and technologists to oversee the content and design.

The editorial and design teams for ‘billion beats’ will be based in Bangalore and HAL’s official spokesperson Anantha Krishnan M. has been appointed as the National Affairs editor for the e-paper.
