DQW Awards recognize top channel partners of north India

NEW DELHI: The DQ Week Delhi organized its Fourth Annual Resellers Award nite at a grand ceremony at Hotel Park Royal Intercontinental, New Delhi. Supported by Samsung India, the event also marked the completion of 250 weeks for the DQ Week Delhi. In its five years of existence, the DQ Week Delhi has carved a niche for itself as an exclusive weekly newspaper dedicated towards the channel segment.



For the second consecutive year, the Best Reseller award (for Delhi) was bagged by Vidur & Co with Micro Max Technologies coming a close second. In fact, this was a hat trick for Micro Max as it bagged the award for the third year in succession. Team Computers took away the award for being the Best System Integrator. And the runner up in this category was PC Solutions. In the Retailer category, Computer Land emerged as the winner. Agrani Convergence was chosen as the Most Promising Retailer.



Moninder Jain, National Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics India, started the nite with his thoughts on the loyalty factors, that can bring the much required impetus to grow the customers' faith in a reseller. Shyam Malhotra, Editor-in-chief, the DQ Week Delhi, spoke about the growth of channels and how this community has become important for the IT industry. He also asserted the importance of value added services along with the box pushing business. Apart from Delhi, awards were given to best resellers of 17 other cities of north India and two cities of east India. Which meant that this year, the total number of cities awarded grew from 11 last year to 19 this year. And in Delhi, there were six awards as compared to five last year.



In an effort to recognize the excellent work being done by the channel community of many more cities, the DQ Week Delhi included eight new cities including Dehradun, Jammu, Meerut, Raipur, Shimla and Udaipur in the north and, Jamshedpur and Patna from the east. With this, the DQ Week Awards now cover 12 states of India--Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.



The winners in the cities other than Delhi were: Tritech Enterprises for Allahabad (second year running), Kochar Infotech for Amritsar, Microworld for Bhopal (second year running), Data Spec for Chandigarh, Strategic Information Technologies and JP Sales Corporation (jointly) for Dehradun, Abacus Combines for Indore, Vishnu Computer Land for Jaipur, Super Dot for Jalandhar, Aman Technologies for Jammu, Galaxy Infosystems for Jamshedpur, Commexcell Technologies for Kanpur (second year running), Computer Shack (second year running) and UPTEC Computer (jointly) for Lucknow, Infotec Data Management for Ludhiana, Foretek Systems for Meerut, Susan Computers for Patna, Raipur Computer Services for Raipur, Microbridge Computers for Shimla, Tayal Software for Udaipur, and Jwala Distributors for Varanasi.

The reaction of the award winners was really mind-blowing. For instance, Manish Mehrotra of Tritech Enterprises, Allahabad, was quite ecstatic about getting the award for the second time in a row. He said, "DQ Week Delhi no doubt is a premier publication and it really makes small time resellers like us very proud to know that a national weekly is recognizing the efforts that are put in by the resellers in regional cities."

The winners were chosen by an eminent jury comprising of GS Paul, DGM (Sales), Tech Pacific India; Moninder Jain, National Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics India; and Ranbir Singh, GM (North Zone), Wipro ePeripherals. They took into account a number of parameters including credibility, financial strength, turnover, service attitude, long term commitment to business etc.



Besides a number of leading lights from the industry, close to 500 channel partners from the entire north region graced the occasion. The awards were handed over by Pradeep Gupta, Publisher and MD, Cyber Media; Shyam Malhotra, Editor-in-Chief, Cyber Publications; GS Paul of Tech Pacific; Moninder Jain of Samsung; and Ranbir Singh of Wipro. Prasanto Roy, Group Editor, The DQ Week Delhi, proposed a vote of thanks. The evening concluded with cocktails and dinner.
