CHENNAI: The fourth DQ Week Madras channel Awards for South were presented to the winners in an impressive ceremony here on Wednesday.

Veeras Infotek (Chennai) and Alliance Technology (Hyderabad) won the Best Software Reseller awards. Pelikan Office Automaton Pvt Ltd (Chennai), Mehak Data Systems (Hyderabad) and Alfa Consumables (Bangalore) received the Best Media Reseller awards.

Around 300 channel partners from 20 south Indian cities competed in different categories. Two categories — Best Software Reseller award and Best Media Reseller award - were added this year.

A board of industry experts decided the awards, which recognize overall excellence of the channel partners. The awards were constituted in 2002.

Three channels won the awards for the fourth consecutive time while Avalon Data Products (Thirunelveli) and Precision Group (Chennai) hit hat trick this year. Innovative Information Technology (Hyderabad), Logtech Infoway (Thiruvananthapuram) and Bloom Electronics (Coimbatore) and Supreme Computers (Chennai) successfully competed for the fourth year.

The Best Retailer award for Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi went to Access, Karthik Business Machines Pvt Ltd, Youdan Computers and Peripherals, and Focus Computers respectively. Salem-based Universal Systems bagged the Best Channel Partner award.

Natesh Mani, executive director (New Office Group), Xerox India; Shrikant Bapat, vice president, Emerson India, D R Bhaskaran, business development manager, Iomega; P S Neogi, vice president (Sales), Redington India and Shyam Malhotra, executive director and editor-in-chief, Cyber Media presented the awards.
