NEW YORK: Online advertising firm DoubleClick Inc. sold its e-mail list services unit to database services provider InfoUSA, sources close to DoubleClick said on Monday.
The news comes as DoubleClick is struggling with a sharp downturn in ad spending and tries to diversify its revenue stream. Terms of the deal with InfoUSA, which provides sales and marketing support for products for businesses, were not disclosed. Officials for DoubleClick and infoUSA were not immediately available for comment.
Shares of InfoUSA closed flat at $7.50 and shares of DoubleClick closed up nearly 5 percent, or 62 cents, at $13.34.
