Donnelley opens facility in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: Yet another high profile expansion was firmed up at the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark campus with premier business process outsourcing major RR Donnelley & Sons Company kicking off operations of its second facility.

The new facility spread across 41,000 sq ft space at the Thejaswini block at Technopark will seat around 3000 employees engaged in transaction processing and financial management services to clients in Europe and the United States.

The company plans to add substantial numbers of professionals to its global workforce of approximately 65,000. This is the company’s second facility in the Kerala capital, and complements an existing 8,500 sq ft facility situated at the Technopark campus.

RR Donnelley’s Global BPO offering is also supported by delivery centers in Chennai, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

According to Kiran Shankar, managing director and head of RR Donnelley’s Global BPO - Asia Operations, Thiruvananthapuram is an attractive location for the company's BPO services due to its access to a highly skilled talent pool with about 60,000 students graduating every year.

“The new facility, along with our existing offshore centres, in Asia, gives us a larger network, enabling seamless delivery of work on a 24X7 basis. We are excited about our expansion in Kerala and look forward to building on our capabilities and providing greater value to our clients,” Shankar said.

K R Jyothilal, special secretary, Department of IT, Kerala, inaugurated the new facility.
