Dongbu kick starts Europe ops

SAN JOSE: Dongbu HiTek, the South Korean foundry vendor, has begun its strategy to expand its European presence by opening a sales office in Nice, France. Another office will be opened in Milan, Italy later this year.

The company said that the office in Nice will be managed by Christophe Bianchi. Bianchi was the managing director of Third Millennium Marketing, a management consultancy before taking up this position.

Sources at Dongbu HiTek remarked that the European region has traditionally been bullish in semiconductors for automobiles and industrial analog semiconductors; but with the region commanding about 20 percent of the worldwide semiconductor market, Dongbu HiTek's expanding presence has been well timed to capture new analog and mixed-signal business opportunities especially as the global economy gradually recovers.
