"The Solaris Ready certification is one more proof point of our strategy to deliver solutions that interoperate seamlessly in all IT environments," said Naim Malik, senior product manager, Raritan Computer. "The Dominion SX serial console servers are designed to remotely manage a wide range of equipment — servers, routers and other equipment — in multi-vendor environments, including data centers, branch offices, virtual and lights-out data centers."

Achieving the Solaris Ready status allows Raritan to display the program's logo on its Dominion products and provides customers with an easy way to identify which products have completed in-depth interoperability, compatibility and functionality testing on SPARC, x86 and x64 platforms running Solaris.

The Dominion SX serial console server models range from four ports to the new 48 serial-port model (DSXA-48), which features dual LAN, dual AC feed, and a built-in modem.

"We are pleased that Raritan's new Dominion SX models have met our certification requirements and can now display the Solaris Ready logo, so that customers can easily identify the Dominion SX as having proven interoperability on Solaris," said Juan Carlos Soto, software CTO and vice president, Software Lifecycle Engineering, Sun Microsystems.
