AUSTIN, USA: It's the National Hurricane Preparedness Week from May 24th to 30th here and an Austin-based company eProoft is encouraging community homeowners and businesses to better prepare before the storm as the 2009 Hurricane Season begins.

As it says, this is a perfect time to stop and take stock of valuables and document them securely online with an inventory software.

The company has recently supplied free lifetime subscriptions of the online home inventory software to Galveston, Texas residents by partnering with a local insurance agent and his clients.

Galveston Insurance Associates owner, Garry Kaufman, stated, "Those who were prepared with records of their personal valuables were paid promptly after Hurricane Ike, while others had a tougher time with their claims."

Galveston Insurance Associates promoted the free subscriptions to their policy holders as well as the entire Galveston community. As a press note added, the eProoft online home inventory software was also well received at the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association Conference in Lake Charles, Louisiana earlier this month.

Disaster preparedness professionals in attendance are reaching out with eProoft to help educate their communities and encouraging them to action now.

The stock can be secured by uploading images of their valuables and documents and storing them securely online. Users can document the replacement costs and serial numbers needed to file a claim or prove ownership in case valuables are lost due to natural disaster or theft. eProoft CEO, Erik Vicars, realizes that losing your personal belongings can be devastating, whether the value is sentimental or financial.

From robbery to natural disasters, tragic events happen, and the difficulty of remembering all of your possessions and filling out an insurance claim can be almost too much to endure after a storm.

Vicars created the premier web-based home inventory software, so that he could give back to the community and provide a needed service, he adds.
