Do you deserve a scholarship from BITS Pilani?

BANGALORE, INDIA: With the aim of furthering research in the area of information and communication technologies relevant to economies like India, HP Labs India has announced the launch of the next set of ‘BITS-HP Labs India PhD Fellowships’ in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani.

As part of the programme, HP Labs India will be offering comprehensive scholarships to successful candidates so that they can pursue PhD research at HP Labs India registered with BITS, Pilani, for up to three years.

Sudhir Dixit, Lab Director, HP Labs India said "The BITS-HP fellowship is one of our marquee Industry-Academia initiatives in the country. The fellowship has been instituted to offer candidates  an opportunity to work to the highest academic standards with HP Labs - a leading industrial research laboratory and the corporate research group of HP."

What can you expect from this collaborative programme? "Through this initiative, we look forward to attract candidates of exceptional abilities for research in cutting-edge technologies relevant to countries such as India”, Sudhir said.

Candidates will have access to HP Labs India facilities in Bangalore as they pursue their research and collaboration opportunities with other worldwide HP Labs. The fellowship will also cover expenses for attending one selected international conference and presenting a research paper.

Entries are invited from students who hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering in Computer Science/EE/ECE or those outstanding students who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Computer Science/EE/ECE and who are interested in doing doctoral work in topics like Multimodal Human Computer Interfaces, Simplified Web Interfaces, Indian Language Information Retrieval and more.
