HYDERABAD: divine, Inc., a US based provider of solutions for the extended enterprise with its Indian subsidiary based in Hyderabad, is gearing up to expand its operations within the Indian sub-continent as well as in the Middle East region. "We are looking at having our marketing and technical support operations in all the metros including — Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore within India and in Dubai for the Middle East region by the end of December 2002," said, Dr Gobind Baghasingh, Director-Operations at divine India.



The company is primarily into the area of providing extended enterprise solution to its global clients. "We are having 12 different products catering to the areas of customer interaction management, content management, knowledge management and collaborative management. The overall market for these areas within India is to the tune of Rs 500 crore and once we have our presence in all the corners of the country we will be in a position to tap around 20% of that," he explained.



As of now, the Indian operation of the company has a work-force of 150 people based in Hyderabad and as the company expands, this will be increased to more than 350 software professionals. "In spite of the economic downturn we have done substantially well, this is primarily because of our expertise in the areas of knowledge management and customer interaction management. As we move forward, we are looking out for a place of about 20,000 square feet within Hyderabad for our expansion," he added.



The extended enterprise solutions focussed company provides professional services, software services and managed services, the company extends business systems beyond the edge of the enterprise throughout the entire value chain, including suppliers, partners and customers.



In India the company is targeting all the mid and high level call centers for its suite of products as well as financial service providers and the media industry. "We are offering single-point accountability for end-to-end solutions that enhance profitability through increased revenue, productivity, and customer loyalty. The company provides expertise in collaboration, interaction, web services and knowledge solutions that enlighten, empower and extend enterprise systems," he explained.



Founded in 1999, divine focuses on Global 5000 and high-growth middle market firms, government agencies and educational institutions and currently serves over 20,000 customers spread all over the globe. The company started its Indian operations in the year 2000 and has invested more than Rs 50 crore for setting up its Indian arm.
