DistilBio Enterprise seamlessly integrates data from instruments, internal knowledge bases, external data sources and enables the user to ask complex questions across the these sources. It is able to bring together both structured and unstructured data related to the life sciences such as genes, proteins, pathways, drugs, sequences, mutations, cell lines along with raw or processed data from laboratory instruments. DistilBio's graph-based search technology enables users to discover hidden relationships buried deep within and across these data silos.

At the core of DistilBio Enterprise is a vast life sciences ontology that drives an intelligent data integration pipeline. The ontology also powers the graph-based querying technology that automatically recognizes gene names, pathways, diseases etc. and also all the relationships between them.

Kalpana Krishnaswamy, CEO, Metaome Science Informatics said: "The amount of data is exploding, and analyzing not only large but disparate data types will become a key differentiator for life sciences companies and provide much needed visibility into research & development. Metaome is at the forefront of providing breakthrough technologies for the life sciences sector and DistilBio Enterprise will democratize big data exploration and discovery in an unprecedented manner."

"The use of big data analytics is exploding in the biotech and healthcare sectors with the ever-increasing volume and variety of data. DistilBio Enterprise comes to the rescue by offering a seamless data integration along with a graphical point and click querying system. It does away with the need for informatics support to access complex databases and as a result, puts the biologist directly in charge of asking the questions," said Ramkumar Nandkumar, CTO, Metaome Science Informatics.

DistilBio Enterprise is based on Metaome's popular DistilBio Online which is available for free. The online version currently integrates more than thirty commonly referenced public domain Life Sciences databases covering more than thirty million biological entities such as genes, proteins, drugs, compounds, pathways and diseases.
