DishnetDSL subscriber base crosses one lakh

NEW DELHI: DishnetDSL has announced that it has crossed the one lakh subscriber base in dial-up access. DishnetDSL, inaugurated at Pune on March 18, 1999, crossed this figure on June 13, 2000.

Commented Dr Erich Buerkler, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), DishnetDSL, "People's growing trust and the unstoppable Internet revolution are the main drivers behind the market success of DishnetDSL. The exponential growth also reflects DishnetDSL's commitment to its customers to offer high-quality, flexible Internet services."





DishnetDSL services are currently available in 36 cities--the latest to join the dial-up services list being Jaipur. Calcutta and Bhopal are ready in all aspects and will be covered by the company shortly.

DishnetDSL has already availed more than 100 MBPS of international bandwidth and expects to add another 200 MBPS shortly from VSNL and private international gateways. DishnetDSL is the first DSL operator in India and currently covers the following cities -- Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai. DishnetDSL plans to roll out its broadband services in all large cities of India during the next 24 months.
