Digital Waves launches Tyan servers

Digital Waves, the Bangalore-based technology infrastructure

solutions provider, today announced the launch of

Tyan Servers in India based on

the dual-core



Intel Xeon 5000-series processors.





The Tyan Tempest i5000PX (S5380) is targeted at the high-end sector where as the
Tyan Tempest i5000VS (S5372) and Tempest i5000VF (S5370) are the entry-level and

mid-range series.



The company said in a statement that with this announcement customers will be
able to realize higher performance and efficiency gains on their server

applications than ever before.






Both the S5380 and the S5370 support the available Intel "Dempsey Xeon Dual-Core
processors and the upcoming Woodcrest Xeon Dual-Core processors. These

processors offer fast core speeds, 64-bit technology, built-in virtualization

and security, and new dual core capabilities.






"Today all the latest servers require best core components in order to provide
the fastest performance possible. The processors, the memory, and the

motherboard platform itself must be high performance to offer higher speed and

power needed to cater to the demands of high-end applications. To address these

requirements, Tyan has launched several new server platforms to meet customer

expectations on performance and proven reliability," said Kaushik N Sonawala,
