NEW DELHI: After having incorporated development, design and testing capabilities to its much awaited VisualStudio Suite — global software major Microsoft launched its VisualStudio 2005 at its annual developer event, TechEd in New Delhi.

The product has been designed keeping in mind three distinct market segments in students, professionals and enterprise. "The product comes in with different flavors for different segments. This time we have consciously taken care of the students or the hobbyist segment and have given them the 'express family' of VisualStudio. Team system would cater to the different needs of an enterprise," informed, Bindia Hallauer, senior product manager, Developer Platform Marketing Group at Microsoft Corporation.

The newly unveiled Visual Studio 2005 release will represent substantial change for users of prior versions of the development product. The product was launched worldwide in the month of July at a similar TechEd event in Amsterdam (The Netherlands). As the developer community did not have access to development, design and testing tools built into a single product — this product is aimed at providing that. The Team System targeted towards the enterprise segment is intended to deliver better collaborating capabilities between architects, developers and IT professionals.
