Individual and SMB users of 16,000 telephony service provider DIDX members in 170 nations are eligible to use the DIDX API to purchase on demand.

Millions of calls per month would be made to Alaska phone numbers to keep expatriates, tourists, traveling businesspeople, and SMB remote offices in touch with their Alaska counterparts. This is important socially as well as financially for Alaska's economy and quality of life. Asterisk, freeSWITCH and other SIP enabled IP communications are meeting these needs through DIDX, said a press release.

With oil, gas, and seafood dominating the Alaskan economy, having a local presence in Alaska via an Alaskan phone number has the potential to facilitate business development and research in all three areas.

Universities, enterprises and other organizations around the world can leverage this opportunity. Many

Alaskans speak Spanish or some Asian languages which intimates the potential for Asian, European, and Latin-American positive business collaborations, the release added.

Suzanne Bowen, vice president of marketing for Super Technologies, Inc., “Already while interviewing the mobile operators, CLECs, and all types of companies who use IP communications as a major benefit in business who have purchased the Alaskan DIDs say that the users are SMB and consumers, evenly.”
