As part of its commitment to support location-based services on mobile handsets, DeviceAnywhere has also entered into a co-marketing agreement with NAVTEQ, a global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, to support the development of the next generation of location-enabled solutions.

Now, the DeviceAnywhere Test Center would allow developers of location based services (LBS) and location-aware applications to replicate the GPS location of a device, eliminating the need for costly field trials and significantly reducing time-to-market. DeviceAnywhere would enable this feature on additional handsets in the coming months, said a press release.

Faraz Syed, CEO, and co-founder of DeviceAnywhere said, “LBS represents one of the most exciting and fastest growing sectors in mobile and has the potential to change the way in which people use their mobile handset, as well as creating new revenue opportunities for both developers and service providers.”

DeviceAnywhere will play a key role in allowing us to support the introduction of multiple technology and device platforms to our growing community of developers through the availability of real handsets on live networks at the touch of a button,” said Marc Naddell, vice president, Partner and Developer Programs, NAVTEQ.
