At the annual TechEd India 2012, he highlighted on Metro Style Apps for Line of Business on Windows 8 platform. "It is a no-compromise experience, be it on a PC, tablet or notebook."

Metro style apps are designed to be immersive and chromeless, filling the entire screen, in a way to avoid distractions. Metro style apps work together, making it easy to search, share, and send content between them. When users are connected to the Internet, said Caldas, their apps show them the latest content, so that they can stay up to date.

The emerging five key trends that drive Windows 8 are form factors, touch, mobility, connectivity and services. Of these, end-users were seeking touch in every device they use and mobility was also becoming widespread, added Caldas.

"With Windows 8, you can use your own creativity and innovations. It is available in 231 markets, 100 languages, and aiding local currency in 70 countries. We ensure a 70:30 revenue split, which can go up to 80:20. Certain business models within the applications can yield even 100 per cent returns. We also allow pricing flexibility as per geography."
